Craig’s Story

The Craig Poythress Foundation was founded by Terry and Carol Poythress in loving memory of their son Craig, who was diagnosed in October, 2010 with an Anaplastic Astrocytoma Brain Tumor. In honor of his memory, The Craig Poythress Foundation will host fundraising events each year so that we may continue our mission of providing help to find a cure for this deadly disease. We now host an annual 5K run at Duke for Angels Among Us. Any donations will be gladly accepted online using the button below. Thank you for helping us make a difference!

Angels Among Us – Charity 5K Event

Join Team Craig as we help raise money for brain cancer research in Running for “Tumor-row’s” Cure. All proceeds will go to The Tisch Brain Tumor Center. April 25, 2026 – Corner of Erwin Road and Flowers Drive on the Duke Medical Center Campus.
